How to Release Negative Emotions
Sigmund Freud is quoted as saying,
“Unexpressed emotions will never die. They are buried alive and will come forth later in uglier ways.”
If it wasn’t for the Grace of Jesus, this certainly would be true.
Some people try to suppress and hide their inner feelings of guilt,
only to find them resurfacing at unwanted times,
as depression or fear or anger.
You cannot repress your Guilt if you want to live a happy life,
you must release it completely.
You will either find a way to overcome Guilt,
or it will become your domineering master.
Playing the Denial Card about your Guilt
only gives it greater power,
because it becomes a festering, unexpressed emotion.
Dr. Jordan Peterson asks the pertinent Question,
“Why do we Sabotage ourselves?”
If we don’t find some way of expressing our Guilt,
it will resurface and sabotage our lives.
Yet, some people stubbornly refuse to deal with their Guilt,
preferring instead to try to drown it with alcohol.
We may have tried every way we know to get rid of our Guilt,
but finally given up,
and resigned ourselves to living with this wretched emotional pain.
However,
if you can’t do it yourself,
you are now ready to receive the Grace of Jesus.
You may already be sabotaging every relationship you enter into,
so what have you got to lose?
Confess your Sin that has caused you all this Grief, to our Lord Jesus Christ.
Ask for His Grace to heal your emotional pain.
Receive the Holy Spirit into your heart to empower you to overcome
all negative emotions.
