Power To Overcome

In todays Western Societies there seems to be a plague of Mental Health Issues, especially amongst the young.

Unfortunately much of the mainstream Church is preaching a Gospel that denies or rejects or minimises the importance of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

The Apostle Peter in the Book of Acts commented on this, Acts 11:15, CEV, “After I started speaking, the Holy Spirit was given to them, just as the Spirit had been given to us at the Beginning.”

So here is Peter, who obviously is already a Believer in Jesus Christ, commenting about the importance of the Holy Spirit being given to him and the other Disciples at the Beginning.

Peter continues to illustrate the absolute necessity of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, Acts 11:16, CEV, “I remembered that the LORD had said, ‘John Baptised with water but YOU WILL BE BAPTISED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT’.”

Notice that Jesus did NOT say, ‘Some of you lucky chosen elect will be Baptised in the Holy Spirit,’ , nor did Jesus say ‘Those of you who want this Holy Spirit experience can be Baptised with the Holy Spirit, but I realise that this is not for Everyone because some of you Religious types may think this is just emotionalism.’

Jesus Christ did also not ask for a show of hands for all those Believers who might think this is a good idea, but only after they have been thoroughly convinced.

Jesus Christ made it extremely clear by saying, “YOU WILL BE BAPTISED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT”.

This leaves no room for objections, or excuses, or Doctrinal Debates, or Democratic Votes.
