How To Inherit The Promise – Grace – 5

April 11, 2023

The main obstacle preventing Believers from INHERITING THE PROMISE is the lack of Revelation of it being given to us as an Act of Grace by God.

The vast majority of Believers are preoccupied with trying to earn the favour of the Lord by performing Rituals and Liturgical Observances, thinking that they can earn Grace Points by participating in Legalism.

There is very little Revelation of the Grace of Jesus as UNMERITED FAVOUR, instead what is mainly taught is that Grace is Merited Favour, which has to earned by correctly performing select Rituals.

An example is, ‘If you perform this Ritual 3 times per day for 14 days straight, you will earn 3 Grace Points that you can redeem towards purchasing a Ticket to the Stairway to Heaven’.

Earning Grace Points greatly appeals to our Religious sense of Pride and our Ego.

This concept of earning Grace Points became a major motivator for the Monastic Movement, because in the Monastery the Monks and Nuns could focus completely on earning Grace Points without distractions.

As a result, the ex-Monk Martin Luther largely rejected Monasticism in the Reformation, because God had revealed to him that Justification by Faith was an Act of the Grace of Jesus, and no amount of Monastic Asceticism could earn Grace.

Paul explains this with absolute clarity and certainty in Romans 4:16a, AMP, “Therefore, INHERITING THE PROMISE is the outcome of Faith and depends entirely on Faith, in order that it might be given as an Act of GRACE, Unmerited Favour.”

Why is it so hard for the Religious Legalist Mindset to accept that we cannot earn Grace?
