The Promise – Overcoming Guilt

December 19, 2022

How do we overcome Guilt?

Paul established with absolute clarity in his Epistle to the Roman Church, that we cannot be acquitted from Guilt by works of the Mosaic Law or by performing Rituals.

If we are thinking that we can earn Grace Points by performing a Ritual that will absolve us of Sins committed, then we have been deceived by Satan the Master of all Ritualism.

Why do Religious people choose performing Rituals over the Way of Faith in Christ’s Work of Substitution at Calvary?

The performance of Rituals creates an excuse for committing the same Sins over and over again.

But the problem is that the Ritual cannot remove the Guilt and Condemnation caused by committing the Sins.

The Ritual promises to remove the Guilt, but cannot deliver.

Faced with this dilemma, many Religious people turn to alcohol abuse, or Gambling addictions, or various drugs, to try to create a remedy for the constant anxiety caused by Self Condemnation.

Alas it all fails, and only makes the feelings of Guilt become more entrenched in our Subconscious and Conscious minds.

As Abraham found out, we can easily overcome the mental anguish caused by Guilt through our Faith in Christ Jesus.

But we need to understand that our Justification is by Faith, and not by Good Works of the Mosaic Law or by Ritual Performances.

No matter how many times we go to the Confessional, or Recite our Prayer Beads, or Light Incense to Idols, we are not absolving our Sins but are actually compounding them.

The moment we Confess Jesus Christ as our Saviour and Lord, all our Sins are forgiven, and we are a New Creation in Christ with all our past bondages and addictions completely removed.
