Did you Receive the Holy Spirit by doing Rituals?

At the time of Paul writing his Letter to the Turkish Believers in Galatia, there was a group who were promoting a Ritualist Dogma called the Mosaic Law.

We are not saying that there was anything wrong with the Spiritual Law that Moses introduced under the Old Covenant.

On the contrary, the Law of Moses was essential to the Old Covenant.

However, we are now under a New Covenant based upon the Grace of Jesus Christ and not upon the Spiritual Legal requirements of Moses.

Unfortunately, once again modern day Believers are being enticed to disconnect from Grace and come under the Curse of the Law.

Paul asks the Turkish Believers a question to clarify the issue of How to Receive the Holy Spirit in Galatians 3:2, AMP, “This is all I want to ask of you; Did you Receive the Holy Spirit as the result of obeying the requirements of the Law..”

It’s is staggering how some modern day Theological Professors can fail to understand something so plainly stated by the Apostle Paul.

We asked our fictitious character, the illustrious Agnostic Professor of Theology, Dubitans Heuchler, for his ‘expert’ opinion, “Well I know that Paul was saying here that we don’t receive the Holy Spirit by obedience to Rituals, but what really is the Holy Spirit? We’ve been instructed by the University Board now not to use any Patriarchal language in our Tutoring anymore because it’s oppressive. Paul often referred to our Father God, and the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit in the male gender, and this is entirely inappropriate under the current curriculum. So I no longer have the same concept of the Holy Spirit as Paul does. To those of us who are enlightened, we now refer to the Magical Female Deity as a god, and have rejected all Belief in the Holy Spirit. This Deity does require Rituals and Sacrifices to be performed regularly. So Ritualism in this context is quite acceptable, and even encouraged.”

Next Question to the Theological Professor, “Are you saying that you can no longer refer to God as Our Father in your Theology Degree?”

Professor Dubitans Heuchler “That’s right, I’ve be told that if I want to keep my plush job with the exceptional salary, I can no longer refer to God in the male gender. We are eliminating all references that justify the Patriarchal Hierarchy.”

Q – How many members of the University Board and Faculty Professors are female?

Professor Dubitans Heuchler, “Well none are at this stage.”

Q – Do you think that it is hypocritical that a male dominated University Board and Faculty can be telling the Students to stop using all Patriarchal References in a Theological Course that was originally created to study the Christian Faith?

Professor Dubitans Heuchler, “I must admit that it is very strange, even for me being an Agnostic to acknowledge , but I want to keep my job.”

Returning to the Text now we can see that as soon as we divert from Receiving the Holy Spirit by Faith, we become deceived by all manner of Ritualism.

The main Ritualistic Dogmas that people are being deceived by today are New Age or Witchcraft practices.

How do we Receive the Holy Spirit?

Paul explains How we Receive the Holy Spirit in the next part of Galatians 3:2, AMP, “Or was it the result of Hearing the Message of Salvation, and with Faith Believing it?”

We Receive the Holy Spirit by Faith, and this creates a problem for the Ritualist mindset that wants to earn everything by being obedient to the requirements of the Ritual.
