Grace Vs The Ten Commandments

January 30, 2022

What does it mean to be a Born Again Christian?

We asked our fictitious character ‘Praeter De Presbyterian’ to describe what it means to be a Christian, ‘Well a Christian is someone who keeps the Ten Commandments. Although I must admit that I only manage to follow 6 of the Commandments, and that’s if I’m lucky, as sometimes it’s less. So maybe I’m not a Christian after all, I just can’t live up to those impossibly high standards.’

Unfortunately this is what most people tend to think being a Christian is all about, strictly abiding by the Ten Commandments Rule Book. Since many people no longer even know what the Ten Commandments are , because they are deemed offensive by the PC Agenda, there is much confusion as to what being a Christian really is.

To become a Born Again Christian requires accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.

Praeter De Presbyterian objects, ‘It can’t be that simple, I prefer a Do-It-Yourself type of Religion. This is what attracts me to the Transcendental Magical Mystery Tour, you have to work your way to Salvation by endless Meditation Classes. I feel safe with Rituals, how would I live my life as Christian?’

By Grace we are Saved through Faith in Jesus Christ.

There is no need for Ritualism, or Vestments and Altars, or Incense or Offerings to multiple Deities, or for Meditation Techniques to achieve Nirvana.

When you are Born Again you are Seated with Christ in the Heavenly Realm, and you have achieved Nirvana by His Grace and not by your Ritual or Meditation efforts.

Paul in his Letter to the Ephesians in Turkey, Ephesians 2:6, AMP, “And He Raised us up together with Him when we Believed, and Seated us together with him in the Heavenly Places, because we are in Christ Jesus.”

Praeter De Presbyterian, ‘So I can break all Ten Commandments and still be a Christian?’

We are so focused on being obedient to the Rituals of the Spiritual Olympics that we overlook the Grace of Jesus Christ.

The Law of Moses is our Tutor to bring us to Christ, but once we are Seated with Christ we live by Faith and no longer need to be under a Tutor.
