Why be Baptized with the Holy Spirit?

December 29, 2021

A vital relationship with the Holy Spirit is the Key to living a successful Christian life.

Formulas and Ritualism do not satisfy our inward desire for Peace, Love and Joy.

The Book of Acts is the unveiling of the Holy Spirit, and is the most neglected Book in the entire Bible.

Acts NIV opens with, “In my former Book Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and Teach until the day he was taken up to Heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the Apostles he had chosen”

The first thing that we should recognise from this is that the Final Instructions of Jesus to the Apostles would be of absolutely prime importance.

Yet, we have Theological Professors trying to downplay or completely ignore the significance of these Final Instructions.

We continue with Acts, “After His suffering, he presented Himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the Kingdom of God.”

So the topic of the Kingdom of God was a major issue that He consistently taught the Apostles for forty days.

Nowadays many Futurist End Time Prophecy Teachers are actually unknowingly influenced by John Nelson Darby, the founder of the ridiculous ‘Exclusive Brethren’, and try to put the Kingdom of God off until some distant future time, and for this reason avoid Jesus Teaching on the Kingdom of God deliberately.

The Cults and Agnostic Theologians and Religious Formalists and a myriad of other heretical splinter groups cannot acknowledge Jesus Teaching on the Kingdom of God, because to do so they would have to believe Jesus promise about being Baptized in the Holy Spirit.

Acts, “On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this Command”

Notice Jesus gave them a Command, not a suggestion or a PC nicety. Jesus was not afraid of upsetting the Theology of the Apostles.

Jesus did not say, ‘I’m going to introduce a new idea to you now, so if you disagree with it then I have no problem with that, it’s just a discussion point, everyone can have their own opinions”

This is how the Baptism with the Holy Spirit is discussed in many Theological Seminaries today, as an option for those students who tend to go to extremes.

Jesus issued the following as a command because He wanted all Believers to partake of the blessing of being Baptized with the Holy Spirit.

Jesus did not say, “Let’s have a Vote on this, after all the most prestigious local Thelogical School doubts that there even is a Holy Spirit, let’s not upset the apple cart, we are supposed to be a democracy, aren’t we?”

No, Jesus was Teaching about the Kingdom of God, which is absolutely not a democracy, and we don’t have any right to vote against Kingdom Decrees.

Jesus taught about the Kingdom of God so that the Apostles would become Kingdom Minded, and not oppose the Holy Spirit.

For the sake of the End Times Prophecy Armchair Critics, who believe that the Dispensation of the Kingdom of God and of the Holy Spirit is not yet here, so therefore we should sit around and do nothing, and accuse every US President or prominent US person as being the Anti-Christ, you are disobeying Jesus Command.

Jesus continues in Acts, “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the Gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.”

So Jesus was talking to Believers after his Resurrection about two vital topics, the Kingdom of God and the Promise of the Holy Spirit.

It’s interesting that both of these Topics are the most neglected and ignored by Theological Professors.

Jesus continues with His Command in Acts, “For John Baptized with water, but in a few days you will be Baptized with the Holy Spirit.”

Jesus did not say, “Some of you will be Baptized in water, and you will make a Religion out of that, and refuse obey my Command to be Baptized with the Holy Spirit because you think you don’t need it “

Jesus did say, “You will be Baptized with the Holy Spirit”, and He did not add onto this ‘Pretty Please’.

Clearly , Jesus Command to be Baptized in the Holy Spirit is not optional.

Rejection of the opportunity to be Baptized in the Holy Spirit by many Theological Professors today is a serious affront and an outrageous insult to our Father God.

Would you like to obey Jesus command and be Baptized in the Holy Spirit?
