Grace Vs Social Justice Utopia
The Gospel of the Kingdom that was Preached by our Lord Jesus Christ is being confused and distorted as a Social Justice Message by the Political Correctness Agenda in some Western higher educational Institutions.
Jesus is presented as a Utopian idealist who was defiantly railing against the systemic injustices of his time.
An exposure of the corruption of the real message of Jesus is found in the Gospel of Mark Ch12 V13-17, regarding Paying Taxes to Caesar.
“And they sent to him some of the Pharisees and some of the Herodians, to trap him (Jesus) in his talk.”
The equivalent of this today would be sending some University Lecturers to debate a prominent Preacher or Priest, to try to catch them out by cornering them into making a politically incorrect statement. It is very important to understand this because the idea that Jesus was a rebel against society is not new.
The Pharisees thought that Jesus ‘revolutionary fervour’ would make him declare opposition to paying Taxes to Caesar, as was the case with other radical politically motivated sects operating at the time. This is why they asked him the following question about taxation.
“And they came and said to him, ‘Teacher, we know that you are true and do not care about anyone’s opinion. For you are not swayed by appearances, but truly Teach the way of God.
Is it Lawful to pay Taxes to Caesar, or not? Should we pay them, or not?”
At this point the Pharisees were convinced that they had outsmarted Jesus, and would then be able to call the Roman authorities and have him arrested if he said anything against paying Taxes. This would have been true if Jesus was in fact a political agitator, as todays PC Thought Police claim that he was. The Pharisees got this erroneous idea from Jesus other Teachings on the Kingdom of God, which they completely misunderstood, just like PC Theologians today deliberately misinterpret Jesus Teachings.
“But, knowing their hypocrisy, he said to them, ‘Why put me to the test, bring me a Denarius and let me look at it.”
Jesus knew that the motivation of the Pharisees was to accuse him of rebellion so that they could hide their own political games with Rome. There is an alarming parallel with Theologians and Seminary Lecturers today teaching Politically Correct compromise and Class Warfare nonsense to receive Government funding.
“And they brought one, and he said to them, ‘Whose likeness and inscription is this? They said to him ‘Caesar’s’. Jesus said to them,’Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s’.
And they marvelled at him.’
This response obviously shocked the Pharisees, just as PC inquisitors are surprised when they encounter the Gospel of Grace.
