Keys to Commonwealth – 2
If the Queen of England were to say to you ,
“I give you the Keys to the Commonwealth”, you would get excited and tell everybody you know. Jesus Christ wants to give us the Keys to the Kingdom Commonwealth, but we are wanting to overly emphasize the Heavenly side of everything that Jesus Taught on this subject.
As a result very few people are interested in the Keys to the Kingdom Commonwealth.
In Mark 4 V13 we have the introduction to the most important Parable in the Gospels as taught by Jesus Christ, “And He said to them, ‘Do you not understand this Parable ? How then will you understand all the Parables ?” In other words, if you don’t get this Parable, you will not be able to understand all of the other Parables. This Parable is called in V14, “The Sower Sows the Word.” To Sow means to plant Seeds in this context.
Did Jesus say , ‘My most important Parable is about an Angel playing a Harp in Heaven’ ?
Many of the people listening were farmers, so Jesus discussed a topic relevant to their everyday lives. Obviously Jesus was not talking about the afterlife, but about HOW to live your life successfully in the here and now. In Mark 4 V19 Jesus continues, “And the cares of this world (the stress and anxiety), the DECEITFULNESS of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the Word, and it becomes unfruitful (in this life).”
The ignorant respond to this Verse by saying, ” Jesus taught that riches are deceitful, so all you naughty people with money are deceived because wealth is evil.” What Jesus actually taught was that our attitude towards riches can be deceitful, not that money is inherently evil of itself. How we relate to money depends on our response towards it. If we allow greed to develop in our heart towards money, then we have been deceived and the Word will not benefit us.
Why do we distort what Jesus taught here about how greed for money can deceive us ?
If we succumb to greed then the Word cannot bear fruit in our current lives. What type of fruit is the Word going to bring forth in our lives ? The inference is obvious, we will reap riches without having to be greedy or having to resort to deceit to get wealth.
Did Jesus say “You have to be poor in this life, but you will enjoy riches in Heaven”?
In the next Part of this Series we will expose the ‘Poverty is a virtue’ deception.
