It’s your Call – 7
We can see in Romans that Paul was wanting to outline a Plan for believers to live a successful life. However, if you have been taught that your Christian walk is primarily a collection of “Don’t do this” and “Don’t do that”, the victory that you are searching for will be very elusive. If you are on a diet and you want to stop eating Chocolate, the worst thing you can say to yourself is, “Whatever you do don’t eat chocolate, don’t think about the taste of chocolate, try to avoid looking at chocolate, don’t …..delightful chocolate, don’t ……..delicious chocolate.” Suddenly we find ourselves feeling guilty for eating chocolate yet again.
Romans is not a ‘Don’t Book’, despite what you have been told.
In Romans Ch4 V1 AMP, Paul states,
” 1 BUT if so, what shall we say about Abraham, our forefather humanly speaking–what did he find out? How does this affect his position, and what was gained by him?”
Paul asks about Abraham , “What did he find out ? How does this affect his position ?”
Here Paul is saying that what Abraham discovered affected his understanding of his position or standing with God. As we can see from “And what was gained by him ?”, that Abraham benefited from his Discovery. In order for you to obtain an advantage from what Abraham found out you need to understand the Secret that Abraham uncovered. As you apply this Revelation to your life you will find that obstacles and circumstances that hindered you previously will be overcome.
